MESSAGE TO COLONIAL BEACH CITIZENS

Dear Citizens of Colonial Beach,
I want to start off by saying it’s been an honor working for you as a council member for nearly 5 years. This is not a farewell speech because my term is not up until January but I did want you to know I will not be seeking re-election in the fall. This was not an easy decision because I really feel it is critical to have independent, honest, common-sense people on council and they are not always easy to come by. I feel blessed to have been able to serve the citizens of Colonial Beach and I thank you for entrusting me with that responsibility.
My personal circumstances have changed since I first ran for council in 2021 making campaigning and attending regular meetings much more difficult. While there is still much to be done, I feel I have achieved many things over the last 5 years and one of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is providing transparency to our citizens through my blog posts. I strongly encourage independent fiscal conservatives to run because I know there are plenty of yes people ready to step in and continue on the path of fiscal irresponsibility cloaked as fiscal transparency. I have several months left so I will continue working for you and hopefully we can achieve some more successes along the way.
Sincerely,
Councilman David Williams
