TREE RULES IN COLONIAL BEACH

Have you ever driven around town and wondered why so many trees are topped off? "Topping off" means they cut the top of the tree off and essentially kill it. Is this legal? Review the zoning administrators 2023 email to me attached below and decide for yourself. My interpretation is no, people can’t just go around cutting off the tops of trees to get around the tree rule. If there is indeed a loophole we need to put an end to it and I will be happy to champion this effort.
