Update - Subdivision Ordinance Vote

Believe it or not my blog post on the Subdivision Ordinance got more attention than most of the other posts I've done over the years. It's obvious people are skeptical of the towns ability to handle expansion and not do things behind closed doors.

The way the agenda item was advertised is as follows "ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT, ZTA 25-05 AMENDMENT TO SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE - REVIEW PROCESS AND TIMING". I was fairly well versed in the subject and still had trouble following the meeting because there was a lot of additional discussion.

In a nutshell - The State passed a law allowing Towns under 5k people to allow the Planning Commission to voluntarily give up their right to review and approve subdivisions over 50 lots. Many citizens opposed the change and the Planning Commission unanimously voted on Dec 11th to retain their right to review and approve. Town Council followed suit and on Dec 17th voted to pass the same ordinance.
